Expert Witness Process Made Clear

Dr. Daniel Wallace and Wallace Rheumatic Studies Center are committed to guiding attorneys through the expert witness process. These FAQs cover the most common questions about engagement, timelines, and services to help you understand how we work and what to expect.

What types of cases do you handle?

We provide expert witness services in internal medicine and rheumatology, supporting both defense and plaintiff cases involving complex medical conditions.

How does the engagement process work?

Our process begins with an initial consultation to understand the case. This is followed by medical record review, preparation of reports, and, if required, deposition or courtroom testimony.

How long does it take to prepare a report?

Report preparation timelines vary based on the complexity of the case and the volume of records. We provide an estimated timeframe during the initial consultation.

Do you only testify for defense cases?

No — while a majority of engagements are defense cases, we also provide evaluations for plaintiff cases, ensuring objectivity and accuracy in every assessment.

How are your reports structured?

Reports are concise, well-organized, and clearly communicate medical findings, opinions, and reasoning, designed to be easy for attorneys and courts to understand.

Can you testify in court?

Yes — Dr. Wallace has extensive experience providing testimony and participating in depositions, offering professional, credible, and precise communication of complex medical information.

Are consultations confidential?

Absolutely. All communications and case reviews are handled with strict confidentiality, in accordance with professional and legal standards.
